CapabilitiesCircuit Board, Box-Build, Volume Production, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Design and Test
Kerrydale Technologies LLC was founded in Haymarket, Virginia on February 1, 2015, providing circuit board, box-build, volume production, manufacturing, purchasing, design and test capabilities to its customers. Behind it sit more than thirty years of electronic and mechanical assembly experience — as production supervisor, quality assurance engineer, QA director and owner — across military electronics equipment, satellite manufacturing and cable assemblies.
Design and fabrication
Metal designed, formed and finished, in house and through vetted partners.
- Mechanical Design In houseAffiliate
- Through in-house staff or affiliate sub-contractors we provide mechanical design services in materials ranging from aluminum and steel to thermoplastics. Drawings and design files to facilitate machining operations can be provided in the formats your requirements call for. Assemblies needing multiple parts are designed and proofed for fit using 3D rendering software, so everything is confirmed to fit before any material is cut.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication Affiliate
- Through one of our affiliates we can cover all of your sheet metal fabrication needs. We are currently producing production quantities of 1U and 2U rack-mounted sheet metal chassis from six inches to seventeen inches for a range of customers. Methods include shearing, punching, braking, bending, welding and finishing, including iridite and paint. We can also assist your design effort with recommendations based on machine capabilities.
- Painting, Anodizing & Iridite Finishing Affiliate
- We have access to affiliates covering every required metal finish. Matte, gloss or textured finishes on painted surfaces; clear or gold iridite; anodizing — in commercial specification or Mil-Spec versions.
Board assembly
Thru-hole and surface mount, from bare board through to coated assembly.
- Printed Circuit Board Assembly In house
- Printed circuit board assembly in both thru-hole and surface mount technologies is a specialty of Kerrydale Technologies. Multilayer boards in various sizes and configurations are assembled both by pick-and-place machine and by hand stuffing techniques, then soldered by either reflow or wave soldering methods.
- Surface Mount Technology Affiliate
- Through our subcontractors we have the capability to pick and place up to 500 components per hour and to reflow surface mount technology boards up to twelve inches square.
- Wave Soldering Affiliate
- We have access to wave-soldering equipment capable of soldering boards from two inches to sixteen inches wide, using water-soluble fluxes.
- Conformal Coating Affiliate
- Our associates have experience in the cleaning requirements and application techniques necessary to conformal coat your printed circuit boards in a variety of materials, including Uralane (UR) and acrylic (AR).
Integration and test
Building up the assembly, cabling it, and proving it works.
- Mechanical Assembly Affiliate
- Mechanical assembly services are currently provided through one of our affiliates located in Frederick, Maryland. We have the capability to assemble many types of assemblies, ranging from small hand-held audio push-to-talk devices complete with all internal wiring and connectors, to complex computer chassis carrying multiple printed circuit boards and their associated cabling.
- Cable Assemblies In house
- We have extensive experience in the design, development and manufacture of a variety of cable assemblies. Multi-wire cables, ribbon, coax and shielded cables are produced using harness boards, crimp tools and mass termination, soldering and insulation displacement methods.
- Testing In house
- We have the capability to perform electrical and functional testing on printed circuit boards, cables and electro-mechanical assemblies. Continuity, opens and shorts, and burn-in testing are also performed.
- Sound Simulation Equipment In house
- Kerrydale Technologies is the predominant assembly contractor for sound simulation equipment for a major customer, providing the assembly, test and material management function for a wide variety of that customer’s sound simulation devices — from the base computer system and its associated peripherals to individual printed circuit boards and cabling.
